Summer Group Show 2024: Group Exhibition
Past exhibition
Press release
Cuturi Gallery proudly presents its annual Summer Group Show, an alluring medley of themes that delves into visual metaphors and narratives. This exhibition features the works of 10 promising Singaporean artists: Aisha Rosli, Casey Tan, Faris Heizer, Israfil Ridhwan, Joel Seow, Shen Jiaqi, Vanessa Liem, Khairulddin Wahab, Marla Bendini, and guest artist Yanqing Low.
Each artist brings a distinctive style enriched by a diverse tapestry of narratives and inspirations. Their works explore themes such as the intricacies of the human psyche, the delicate nuances of femininity, the concept of masculinity, and the multifaceted experience of transgender identity. Their art also examines everyday life through cinematic vignettes, using figurative and material elements as metaphors for contemporary experiences. Additionally, the works draw on the inevitable march of a city's progress and the anthropogenic histories and textile art of the Southeast Asian archipelago.
Having honed their skills at esteemed local art institutions like LASALLE, NAFA, and SOTA, these contemporary artists have catapulted onto the global visual arts stage, sharing their works with audiences at large. The Summer Group Show will be on view at Cuturi Gallery from 17 August to 7 September 2024.
