Cuturi Gallery may have recently left its premises at Pacific Plaza to relocate to a brand new location in October 2020, but that's not dampening the spirits of Kevin Cuturi and his team. This weekend, the gallery is bringing back French painter Idir Davaine's works at a different spot – the Helutrans Art Space. Hidden in an unassuming industrial warehouse at 39 Keppel Road, the space provides art storage facilities housed in a bustling warehouse.
Idir returns with a bang after showcasing his art at Cuturi Gallery earlier this year in March. Known for his ethereal paintings and illustrations inspired from the surrounding landscape, he makes sense of different forms on canvas to dream up new stories into being. After all, he gets ideas from wandering with his camera, taking shots of scenes he comes across – be it mountains, parks, or forest.
Pop by during the opening weekend on September 5 and 6 and marvel at new paintings by Idir. Mostly manifested during in 2020, these paintings lend some vibrancy and colour to the darker times we're living in. Who knows, you might just leave with a new piece of art for your collection.
